**What it is:** A service to set budget thresholds and get alerts when spending/usage approaches or exceeds them.

**What it’s for:**
  * Prevent bill surprises.
  * Notify teams when costs exceed a set budget.

**Key ideas:**
  * Budget types can include cost budgets and usage budgets.
  * Alerts can be sent to email/SNS depending on configuration.
