**What it is:** A global point-of-presence where AWS serves cached content closer to users (commonly used by CloudFront).

**What it’s for:**
  * Reduce latency for static and cacheable content.
  * Improve user experience worldwide.

**Key ideas:**
  * Users hit the edge first; if content is cached, it’s served immediately.
  * If not cached, the edge fetches from the origin.

**Hard words:**
