Common types (exam-friendly overview):

• gp3/gp2: general purpose SSD (balanced).
• io2: high IOPS SSD for mission-critical DBs.
• st1: throughput-optimized HDD (big sequential data).
• sc1: cold HDD (cheapest HDD, infrequent access).
