aws:global:edge-location

Edge Location

What it is: A global point-of-presence where AWS serves cached content closer to users (commonly used by CloudFront).

What it’s for:

  • Reduce latency for static and cacheable content.
  • Improve user experience worldwide.

Key ideas:

  • Users hit the edge first; if content is cached, it’s served immediately.
  • If not cached, the edge fetches from the origin.

Hard words:

  • *edge* /edʒ/: “biên” (gần người dùng)
  • *cache* /kæʃ/: bộ nhớ đệm
  • *origin* /ˈɔːrɪdʒɪn/: nguồn gốc (server/bucket gốc)
