Edge Location
What it is: A global point-of-presence where AWS serves cached content closer to users (commonly used by CloudFront).
What it’s for:
- Reduce latency for static and cacheable content.
- Improve user experience worldwide.
Key ideas:
- Users hit the edge first; if content is cached, it’s served immediately.
- If not cached, the edge fetches from the origin.
Hard words:
- *edge* /edʒ/: “biên” (gần người dùng)
- *cache* /kæʃ/: bộ nhớ đệm
- *origin* /ˈɔːrɪdʒɪn/: nguồn gốc (server/bucket gốc)
