aws:storage:ebs:snapshot
EBS Snapshot
What it is: A point-in-time backup of an EBS volume (stored in S3 behind the scenes).
What it’s for:
- Backup and disaster recovery.
- Create new volumes from snapshots.
Key ideas:
- The first snapshot is full; later snapshots are incremental (common behavior).
- You can copy snapshots across Regions for DR.
Exam cues:
- “backup EBS volume” → snapshot.
- “restore volume in another AZ” → create volume from snapshot.
Hard words:
- *point-in-time* /ˌpɔɪnt ɪn ˈtaɪm/: tại một thời điểm
- *incremental* /ˌɪnkrəˈmentl/: tăng dần (chỉ lưu phần thay đổi)
- *disaster recovery* /dɪˈzæstər rɪˈkʌvəri/: khôi phục thảm họa
