S3 (Simple Storage Service)
What it is: Object storage for files (objects) stored inside buckets.
What it’s for:
- Store static assets (images, videos, PDFs), backups, logs.
- Build data lakes and durable storage.
- Host static websites (in some cases).
Key ideas:
- Access control: IAM + Bucket Policy.
- Encryption options: Encryption.
- Lifecycle and storage classes reduce cost.
Exam cues:
- “store files with high durability” → S3.
- “static content for global users” → S3 + CloudFront.

- *object* /ˈɑːbdʒekt/: đối tượng (file + metadata)
