B1 Exit Criteria
What it is: Conditions to move from B1 to B2. What it’s for: Confirm you can handle faster speech and more complex texts. Example: You can discuss a topic and support your opinion with examples.
You are ready for B2 if you can
- Speak 3 minutes on a familiar topic with clear structure (opinion + reasons + example).
- Understand 60–70% of normal-speed videos/podcasts on familiar topics without transcript.
- Read articles and infer meaning of some new words from context.
- Write a short opinion paragraph (120–180 words) with coherence and cohesion.
- Use present perfect/past simple correctly most of the time.
