Active Listening
What it is: Listening with actions: pause, repeat, note, verify. What it’s for: Turn listening into measurable learning (not “nghe cho vui”). Example: Replay 1 sentence, write what you hear, then check transcript.
Steps
- 1) First listen (gist): What is the topic?
- 2) Second listen (details): Who did what? when? where?
- 3) Micro-listen: Pause every sentence, repeat aloud.
- 4) Check transcript: Find what you missed.
- 5) Save new phrases: 5 phrases max per session.
Common traps
- Too hard audio → choose easier level (A2/B1).
- No repetition → you forget quickly.
Hard words (Glossary)
- *verify* /ˈverɪfaɪ/: kiểm tra/xác minh
- *measurable* /ˈmeʒərəbl/: đo được
- *trap* /træp/: “bẫy”/lỗi hay gặp
