English Vocabulary: Kitchen Essentials

Goal: Learn the most common kitchen words with meaning, IPA, usage, and examples. Tip: Learn by category + learn collocations (word pairs) + learn by actions (verbs in kitchen).

How to study (Best practice)

  • 1) Learn by categories: cookware / utensils / appliances / tableware / storage / ingredients.
  • 2) Always include collocations (cụm hay đi chung): e.g. “mixing bowl”, “cutting board”.
  • 3) Add 2–3 examples using real situations (cooking, cleaning, eating).
  • 4) Add 1 common mistake (nếu có): bowl vs plate, knife vs cutter, etc.
  • 5) Add pronunciation (IPA) for hard words.
  • 6) Use short, consistent fields so it’s easy to scan and easy to expand.
