What it is: A group of words from the same root (verb/noun/adjective/adverb). What it’s for: Learn 1 word → expand to 4–6 related words quickly. Example: educate (v) → education (n) → educational (adj) → educationally (adv)
Common pattern
- Verb → Noun → Adjective → Adverb
- create → creation → creative → creatively
- decide → decision → decisive → decisively
How to practice
- When you learn a new word, write 1 sentence for each form.
- Add the family to your flashcards.
